Unit 16 --------9th November Groupwork presentation ...

Since the composition of our project was opposite and negative, the main critique that we had was the lack of resembling in our designs for the layout and its interior.

Each member of the group was to design a particular part for the layout but when things came to be joined and placed together , the pieces impaired one to another so the best thing to do is that of selecting the best idea which a member of the group came with  and as a group well choose and continue to work on it to use it as a main theme and focus more on it.by doing this will help to have a museum which starts and finishes with an ongoing design.

We have to keep in mind the exhibits, since its a historical museum the exhibits have still got to be the main attraction of the place and we have to keep them in mind and come out with a sustainable design  rather than just good looking.

Folding cars!

Nowadays small cars are being more into production since the more time passes cars are increasing drastically causing much more parking problems... but now Daniel Bailey (a22-year-old British engineer) found us a solution for this problem! :D

He designed a car that folds in order to reduce the space usage so as to fit in the parking desired. It folds as half as its original size!

The folding inspiration comes from the well known 'Transformers' movie and its outer designs are inspired from the Lamborghini Murcielago and Peugeot 908.

Besides that, the concept has been designed to work  by electricity or hydrogen which in our present situation helps us reduce one of the main problems which is pollution.

my Pecha-Kucha comments...

Yesterday we had a presentation showing our Art and design ideas/ skills and each and everyone one of us presented to the class his work explaining some brief explanation of each particular designs.

Here i have some comments that I wrote on some of my class mates:

Veronique
I liked the way she presented to us her works, she was well prepared and organized in a way. she showed us her progress step by step beginning from foundation diploma till last years work. in my opinion Veronique has a variety of good quality work and sketches and good skills.

Gabriel:
I really like the way he presents his presentations, his works were amazingly good, i really liked the portraits that the had in the beginning of the presentation which showed great design skills. An important factor which he said is that simplicity creates the good work and he showed it clear in most of his designs.

Richard
His works showed talent especially in the Metal Workshop, i really liked his good and quality designed pieces a great example is the Coffee Table. amongst his Metal works he had really good technical design and Cad skills which is a very important to have especially in our course.

Stephanie
Steff explained us that she wasn't in to art from the begining but after doing other subjects she began to realize what is her line. She showed us some of her first drawings and costume making. she also showed us some of her house interior which she had herself planned. but the best pieces that she showed in her presentation are the pieces that she designed here at school which were amazingly good quality designs. i really liked her presentation maybe she should have showed us more of the work worked here at the course.

I.Cocker
He presented to us some of the works worked here at school for the assignments mostly worked in wood since his specialism is the wood workshop. He also showed some of his photographic editing which in my opinion he should have used a little less blurr but great work.

Cassandra
Amongst her works I liked her ceramic pieces in which she included one in particular which had one with metal flakes recycled from the school workshops.

Christine
Most of the works were ceramic pieces with different type of glazes. She showed that shes more  into make-up.  I really liked the slide in which she showed a male face with burns.

Christian
He shows that he tried to explore almost every workshop available in our school. All his works showed a good design, I also liked his 3ds max and photoshop projects which were in my opinion  amazing!

Lorraine
I really liked the worked inspired from the de stijl, also liked the light diffuser which is done in stone. although her specialism is textiles she had explored, experimented and worked with a variety of different materials.

Martina
I really liked her quality test-pieces which are original and creative. The most impressive were her paintings in particular the woman posing which if I’m not mistaken was worked in oils.

Christina
Chrstinas works showed unusual and original designs and experimentation giving good quality pieces.

Nicole
Nicole started by showing us her paintings from past years till present,  also showed us some of her 3d works and talked about techniques and processes.

Sarah Jane
Sarah Jane showed us some of her wood projects showed, inspirations clearly from the  human body but could have exploited much more the design from a project to an other.

Mark
I liked the model done for outdoor I think that he shoud have made the presentation in a louder voice but his works were good.

Vanessa Chaos!
I really like her mixed up thinking which leads to great artistic works and designs. as always she was very relaxed during the presentation  so it helped her more out.:)

Tamara
Showed a variety of interesting concept works from a fashion point of view.

Elisa
She shows clearly her interest in fashion design and also showed us some of the past projects including the soap structures which were designed to be used by children.

…Those were my comments thanks for your time…
